Our Third level educational talks and presentation modules are aimed at all History student and military cadet students studying World War Two history. This presentation module deals with Ireland north and south on the home front during the years of WWII referred to south of the border as ‘The Emergency’. These presentations also focus on the involvement of people from the island of Ireland directly involved in World War II both in the European and Pacific theatres. This includes fascinating and virtually unknown stories of Irish involvement on the fringes of that conflict despite Irish neutrality.
This display and presentation deals initially with the affect of World War II on Southern Ireland during ‘The Emergency’ as well as in Northern Ireland. This presentation specialises in the D-Day Landings with particular emphasis on the airborne assault element of what is still the largest invasion in history.
The presentation module brings museum quality displays of period uniforms and equipment into the classroom including WW2 weapons (Fully deactivated and totally safe), WW2 parachutes, battlefield artifacts, publications, photos as well as archive footage from the period. The presentation also focuses on everyday inventions which arose out of World War II many of which might just surprise you. Detailed educational historical information is provided throughout this presentation to augment your existing history lecture programme and a question and answer session takes place at the end of the presentation.
Please note: Class sizes for each presentation must not exceed 80 students but we do facilitate additional presentations at your school or college on any given day in both the morning and afternoon. Contact us for further information.
